In an interview with Voice of America at a ceremony to honor fallen journalists of this year, Christian Amanpour paid tribute to the dedicated men and women of the journalistic world who she says "remind us of the importance of free press and the threats that exist to it around the world". This year 96 new names have been added to the list of fallen journalists at the Journalist's Memorial who died in year 2009 in the pursuit of truth all over the world. The journalists Memorial located in the Newseum of Washington DC honor the names of journalists each year and add them to the long list of fallen journalists which dates back to year 1837. The names of 5 Pakistani journalists are among those honored this year.
