What do you do when you phone a call center for help? Well, if you’re from the cast of “Outsourced,” you try to get a date. “I tried to chat up the other girl on the other end,” said Sacha Dhawan, who plays Manmeet, adding that he thought his parents would be happy he found an Indian mate. “I had the other thing,” said Rebecca Hazlewood, who plays Asha,  Read More →

After days of furious rumors, Fox just made it official: Ellen DeGeneres' much-criticized tenure as the fourth judge on “American Idol” has sputtered to an end after just one season, with the show in the midst of a massive overhaul. In a news release, DeGeneres said she told the producers a couple of months ago that the show “didn't feel like the right fit for me,” partly because of increased work…  Read More →

Alex Reznik has always struck me as being a couple of fries short of a Happy Meal. He joked — it was a joke, wasn't it? — several weeks ago that he'd use the cash from a “Top Chef” quick-fire prize on “a hooker and an eight ball.” Several of his recipes felt more like an attempt to clean out the pantry (white chocolate, tapioca and chevre pie, with an almond crust and raspberry puree, or pork butt, lemongrass...

Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green were formerly writers and producers on the crime family drama “The Sopranos.” But with their new show, “Blue Bloods,” they've gone straight. With “Blue Bloods,” which stars Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg, Burgess and Green are exploring the lives and dynamics of multiple generations of a New York City police family. Selleck plays a police commissioner, and Wahlberg is a detective....

At first glance, Jon Stewart may appear to have been sporting a new white goatee on the Daily Show last night, as the result of some sort of “aging process.” Fortunately, it turns out, he has a perfectly good explanation for how it happened, with a CRAZY TWIST ENDING to boot: The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Mon – Thurs 11p / 10c Jon’s White Beard www.thedailyshow.com Daily Show Full Episodes Political Humor Tea Party [ Ed...

OK, so this seems like a joke. I’m not sure. Maybe it’s not. It’s wonderful, either way. ( Update: It’s a joke site! And I love it. It’s still really funny . So the rest of my writing in this post is me not knowing if it was a joke or not. Now we know it is. Don’t I look like the fool.) The people over at Christwire.org  have come out against Bill Murray . Among their other complaints: He has also been spotted...

Russell Crowe held a press conference today to announce he will be the narrator in an upcoming remake of “Ben-Hur”. He then made this face: My first reaction upon hearing the news was “Hollywood is remaking Ben-Hur ?? That’s so…really plausible!” But it’s actually an upcoming “Ben Hur” live theater performance at ANZ Stadium in Australia, not a movie. Although if the live  Read More →

Whether it’s been Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia or Patton Oswalt vs. The Yale Valedictorian Who Plagiarized Him , we here at Best Week Ever have always paid close to the dirty world of joke theft. And now, none other than John Mayer is accusing one Rainn Wilson , the not-so-popular-choice to be the next head of The Office , of thieving one of his friends’ jokes on Twitter! …  Read More →

Adam Savage has had a typically crazy Comic-Con. The zany co-host of Discovery Channel's science show “Mythbusters” logged some quality time on the convention floor, roaming incognito dressed as a “Star Wars” storm trooper. Then, outside his hotel, he unexpectedly ran into a personal hero, Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, who's currently the toast of Comic-Con since it became known that he's likely to do...

It was “Family Guy” live Saturday morning at Comic-Con, as creator Seth MacFarlane, in character as the emblematic Stewie, tore into a rapid-fire performance of his original song “Down Syndrome Girl,” a paean to the character that famously offended Sarah Palin. “I have a sinus thing going on,” MacFarlane apologized after the wild applause had died …  Read More →

Do not accuse CBS of being old. When “CSI” returns for its 11th season premiere on Sept. 23, it will have a very special guest star. You may have heard him. He makes young girls squeal. Cast in a role completely against type, Justin Bieber — yes, the Bieber — will play a 16-year-old singer. Wait! There's more. In his acting debut, Bieber's playing…  Read More →
